Kachin Diabetes Solution – PDF eBook download, by John Gootridge. Diabetes mellitus is a special kind of disease. It is not always easy to identify, that explains why there are so many people with diabetes who do not know about it. At the same time, when the disease is already diagnosed, the treatment and well-being of the patient depends more on himself than on the doctor. Diabetes requires constant monitoring, attention and a special lifestyle.
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that develops due to total or partial insufficiency of the insulin pancreatic hormone. With a lack of insulin or insensitivity of body tissues to it, blood glucose levels rise, which is dangerous for relatively all body systems.
Type 1 diabetes mellitus is a state of absolute insulin deficiency. Such diabetes is more often found in childhood or adolescence.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition where the pancreas produces insulin, but the cells cannot react to it properly, their sensitivity to insulin is reduced. Because of this, glucose cannot penetrate the tissues and therefore accumulates in the blood. This diabetes usually develops after 30-40 years in people who are obese.
We can differentiate between two types of diabetes: insulin dependent type and insulin independent type. In the development of type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent), symptoms usually appear quickly, the diagnosis is not very difficult, but the disease is already in the active phase. Type 2 diabetes (insulin-independent) flows unnoticed and the doctor may find it by accident. It is therefore vital to detect diabetes at an early stage.
Symptoms such as persistent thirst, frequent urinary urges, weakness and drowsiness, impaired vision, shivers, numbness and tingling in the palms and soles of the feet, skin problems, poorly healing cuts and scratches, sudden weight loss and severe hunger with proper and full nutrition are all signs of diabetes.
