Jicara - Cempasúchil (Marigold) food cookbooks it’s perfect for everyday mealsThese engraved jcaras from the village of Pinotepa de Don Luis, Oaxaca are the result of a technique passed down through generations of artisans; in our case, they are handcrafted by Jos Cruz Sanz. The jcara, or dried gourd, comes from the Ciria tree that grows along the Oaxacan coast and is engraved using tools called gubias of varying sharpness, as well as sandpaper and acrylic paint for polishing and decorating. The engraved designs reflect the
